Since 2016, we have committed ourselves to helping veterans develop purpose, achieve autonomy, and find authenticity for themselves.

“When the only way PAST is THROUGH”

Our work with veterans begins with getting their basic human needs met.

Connect + Collaborate.

From give-back campaigns & mutual aid volunteer opportunities to educational workshops & mentoring, FVF utilizes activities as tools to build bridges & solidify bonds — connecting veterans across eras of conflict to find commonalities over recreational therapy. Traumas that may haunt veterans can be eased with the presence of reliable community.

Heal + Grow.

Studies show that vets who feel connected to community are more likely to access the services they need, & less likely to self-harm. Connecting with civilians & other vets sparks an innate sense of duty & service to others inside of former servicepeople. Being present in this purpose builds resilience to substance abuse, violence & depression.

Give Back + Prosper.

Our leadership team bring years of experience to the challenge of maintaining veteran mental & physical health upon return home.

As a results-driven group, we are proud to share our proven success record in improving members’ emotional stability & physical well-being, preventing relapse & isolation.

We Walk it Out.

We organize & participate in group walks & hikes where vets & civilians advocate for and enjoy the great outdoors, natural healing methods & holistic approaches to well-being, including outside activity that allows us to unwind & fully be ourselves in a safe context of peers. Get outside with us on one of our hikes or find one local to you through our partner Veterans Walk and Talk.

We Talk it Out.

Operation E.V.A.C. group meetings occur multiple times a week to discuss a common prompt topic or quote, check-in by sharing what’s on our hearts and minds, our recent experiences, to learn about wellness & to do a 20 minute iRest Yoga Nidra meditation.

We Let it Out + Sweat it Out.

From one-on-one counseling and emotional mentoring, to peer-guidance and spiritual support, A Future for Veterans Foundation utilizes the powerful tools of art classes, Native American sweat-lodges & natural, holistic approaches to achieve full body-mind-spirit wellness that go beyond the V.A.’s capacities.
